SISTER SCHOOL - MARIA BINTANG LAUT SCHOOL - BANDUNG -INDONESIA
A historic agreement was signed on Friday 23rd September 2011 with our Sister School in Bandung Indonesia. Principal Philip Cachia, and Senior School teachers Clare Curtis, Jack Rendle and Robert Lagreca visited Maria Bintang Laut (Mary Star of the Sea) School to look at Indonesian Schools, take lessons with various classes and run professional development with teachers from the school. It was an honour and privilege to have been welcomed so warmly by Principal Lanny Luniarti, the teachers and the children during our stay. We reciprocated the gesture in March 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 when staff from our sister school visited Our Lady Help Of Christians School in East Brunswick. The most recent exchange was in March 2016 when Sr. Susana, Ibu Tere and Pak Jujun came to Melbourne.
In September 2014 we signed another Memorandum of Understanding to extend the Sister School relationship for a further three years.
Please click on the link below to see a highlights reel from our five year Sister School relationship. Such incredible memories, such life changing moments for the students, teachers and communities in both Bandung and East Brunswick, such great learning in the areas of social justice, cultural awareness and acceptance.
