Sister School - Maria Bintang Laut School - Bandung -Indonesia

take lessons with various classes and run professional development with teachers from the school. It was an honour and privilege to have been welcomed so warmly by Principal Lanny Luniarti, the teachers and the children during our stay. We reciprocated the gesture in March 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 when staff from our sister school visited Our Lady Help Of Christians School in East Brunswick. The most recent exchange was in March 2017 when Sr. Maria, Ibu Elvira, Ibu Maria and Ibu Nining came to Melbourne.

In September 2014 we signed another Memorandum of Understanding to extend the Sister School relationship for a further three years. Please click on the link below to see a highlights reel from our six year Sister School relationship. Such incredible memories, such life changing moments for the students, teachers and communities in both Bandung and East Brunswick, such great learning in the areas of social justice, cultural awareness and acceptance.

In 2016/17 a further and expanded Sister School relationship and link was made with Waringin Junior High School (the senior school for Maria Bintang Laut School) and the Academy of Mary Immaculate in North Fitzroy with visits happening to both of these schools in September 2016 and March 2017 respectively.

Sister School Project 2015-2016 is supported by the Commonwealth through the Australia-Indonesia Institute of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
